Romanas Klumbys

Romanas Klumbys was born in Chicago, IL, on September 19, 1914. After moving to Lithuania in 1921 he studied in Lithuania and Italy before entering the seminary and Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania. After being ordained priest in 1937, Klumbis worked in Ukmergė, Šiauliai, Lygumos, Pagirys, and Kelmė. During World War II he retreated to Germany and lived in Fulda. In 1946 he returned to the United States and started working among Indians and Mexicans in California,Texas and Arizona. He was appointed chaplain of the Arizona Lithuanian Mission on February 24, 1989 and moved to Sun City, Arizona. Klumbis died on October 11, 1991.
