One week after Easter, as is typical in Tucson, the weather was warm and breezy. The Lithuanian tricolor was flapping in the breeze next to ramada #3, where a cheerful group of Arizona Lithuanian-Americans and their friends were having their spring picnic. Good Lithuanian food, cold drinks, Lithuanian music, and a generously stocked table with lottery prizes contributed to the friendly atmosphere. The children had ample areas around the ramada for play to expend their energy.
The picnic was hosted by the Lithuanian-American Community of Arizona and was organized by Edith Balceris, Onute Damaite Fielding and Aldona Vaitkus. Hot food was prepared by Edith Balceris and Maryte Tallat-Kelpsa. The picnic area was prepared by Mark Shoban, Aldona Vaitkus and Severina Vanagunas. Refreshments were supplied by Zenonas Misius, who also tended the bar. Audio and music were handled by Rimas Vaitkus. Algis Motiejunas was the cashier. Lottery tickets were sold by Grazina Karsas and the winning tickets were announced by Martin Karsas. The Lithuanian-American Community of Arizona thanks all the volunteers for their help and all the guests for coming to the picnic and for bringing lottery prizes.
